Now we all love our kids and are willing to sacrifice much for them, our social lives, friends, hobbies and pastimes that we once enjoyed before the arrival of your children are already something that you have sacrificed. However there seems to be a consensus that was agreed on to make this job as hard a humanely possible in order to waste as much of your free time as you can. Obviously this isn’t the case but why in this day and age must people insist taking in care of their homes and their children in such an unorganized way as if they have no desire to do anything else with their time and while this isn’t the case, it’s something that parents frequently complain about yet do nothing to resolve or improve upon the situation.

However to give these parents credit, it’s hard to prepare yourself for the physical, emotional and other changes that will be coming your way and we are sure that with everything else that you have to learn “trial and error” style when it comes to parenting, making your housework and other tasks more efficient may slip under the radar as you deal with these life altering changes to your routine and habits. however if you really want to be able to split your time enjoying some amount of free time and the enjoyable but hectic task of being a parent then it’s something you will need to do. So hopefully in this article we can go through a few ways that you can streamline different things in your average day in order to give you the time to complete work or personal tasks and enjoy some of your free time.

Play dates and child minder

Sometimes, to truly get a job done as best you can without wasting huge amounts of time by being distracted by the various needs of your children, you will need to somehow get them either out of the house under a responsible person’s care or to be just occupied for a few hours while you get some essential tasks completed. The easiest and most fun way to do this is to make friends with the parents of the children’s friends and get a bit of an “I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine” arrangement going on where you tag each other in certain days when you are getting overwhelmed by splitting your attention between what you are trying to accomplish and getting your 3 year old a rusk.

The other alternative is to hire a child minder. Child minding has changed a lot in the past 50 years, it used to be that a teenage member of a family friend’s family would come over and look out for your kids and be responsible over watching your children while you went about your business. However nowadays this is frowned upon as they now say that an adult should be minding small children, not teenagers. Furthermore comes the problem of who you are employing and it’s recommended that you only go through official and reputable child-minding companies who provide careers to you while you work.

Housework and cleaners

Now housework is something that takes up a great deal of time even single people with no children, the amount of mess that a fully competent, adult man can create is catastrophic enough let alone adding one or more children into the mix. Combine this with the fact that children are naturally messy and naive to the consequences of not cleaning up after themselves and you get a whole lot of mess that needs cleaning. After coming home from work and dealing with the immediate needs of your children, do you really want to spend hours upon hours not only just scrubbing, mopping sweeping and polishing but as you try to do that being constantly interrupted by your kids screaming or complaining about something? We are going to take a guess and say probably not.

So if you find yourself in this position every time you pick up a scrubbing brush then maybe it’s about time that you considered hiring a well reputed and professional cleaner to come and take those big chores off of your hands and let you get on with the task of being a parent while they do the domestics.
